What Is a Magnetic Drawer Separator?

A magnetic drawer separator is an inline magnetic filter that removes tramp iron from dry, free-flowing powders and granules. You install it under a hopper, chute, or at a transfer point, so material must pass through rows of high-intensity magnetic tubes inside a stainless-steel housing. As your product flows through, iron dust, chips, and small ferrous fragments are attracted and held on the tube surfaces, while clean material continues downstream. When it's time to clean, you pull out the drawers, wipe or quick-clean the tubes, and restart quickly. It's a simple way to protect equipment, improve purity, and reduce rejects.

A magnetic drawer separator works by forcing your dry powder or granules to pass through rows of high-intensity magnetic tubes inside a sealed housing. As material flows through the "drawer" area, the magnetic field attracts and holds ferrous tramp metal iron dust, chips, and small fragments on the tube surfaces, while clean product continues to the next process step. You typically install it under a hopper, chute, or at a transfer point where flow is steady and access is easy. When it's time to clean, you pull out the drawers, remove the captured metal , and put everything back with minimal downtime.
