Project 1: Small magnets / micro magnets in Stepper motor in the watch

The stepper motor in the watch comprises the stator made from soft iron and which houses the rotor or armature, which is a permanent small magnets / micro magnet. Each pulse from the coil magnetizes the stator, creating a magnetic field which opposes that of the permanent magnet / micro magnet / small magnets in the rotor, causing it to rotate by 180 degrees. The next pulse, whose polarity is now reversed, completes the process by inducing a further 180 degree turn of the rotor. Each pulse from the coil magnetizes the stator, creating a magnetic field which opposes that of the permanent magnet in the rotor, causing it to rotate by 180 degrees. Project 2: Tiny magnets / small magnet / micro magnet in the MegaQuartz

Upon pushing the stem back into neutral position three tiny magnets in a double-layer intermediate setting wheel are attracted by a steel setting gear and automatically correct the final position of the hour hand so that it corresponds perfectly with the minute.

The coil in the motor module is securely hidden in between two small strong magnets / micro magnet so proceed by removing (sliding) the small magnets from the motor and check resistance of the coil. Dip the motor in alcohol for a longer while and with a small gentle brush remove any battery residue or dirt that might be jamming the escapement.
